I have worked therapeutically with people at points of crisis, change or need for over 30 years. Hypnotherapy is a nurturing practice that gently reaches to the heart of things and addresses the client's desired changes.
I work with all ages, from children to older adults and love to see how clients, whatever their need, respond to the way hypnotherapy supports the changes they want.
You are here because you are facing a difficulty in your life, or are in need of something to support you.
Whether it is a long-term issue, or a short-term need, our sessions together provide a supportive environment, in which new perspectives using hypnotherapy support you to create the changes you long for.
You can choose to have appointments online or in person. If in person, I have a practice room in the centre of Crediton. If transport is an issue, I am able to meet with people in their own home (within Mid Devon and Dartmoor). Online sessions work well and suit people who have limited time for travel and are comfortable with online meetings.

I'm Fiona Macbeth, a hypnotherapist with a lifelong commitment to supporting people at times of need and overwhelm. Get in touch to talk about what you hope for, and find out how hypnotherapy may meet your needs.
Below are some, but not all, of the experiences I work with. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hypnotherapy can help with the management of chronic pain and contributes to improvement in quality of life. Living with pain can be exhausting, and can contribute to low mood and loss of energy. I support clients who are exhausted by years of living with IBS, degenerative physical conditions, and undiagnosed chronic pain. I use a combination of relaxation techniques, guided imagery, and positive suggestion to influence the experience of pain and maintain focus on pain reduction and release. Hypnotherapy is not an alternative to medical treatment but can work alongside prescribed treatment, bringing about changes in perception of pain and supporting a sense of ease and release.
I have seen the profound impact hypnotherapy can have on the shocking, life changing experience of cancer. At a time when fears and emotions are overwhelming, and the unknown is present in a very real way, hypnotherapy can provide a valuable space for deep nourishment, calm and unexpected peace.
A client wrote 'so much warmth and healing light in this work.'
This is every bit as real as physical pain and discomfort. Life throws curve balls, and when the anguish of uncertainty, loss or despair is present, being guided, supported and cared for is necessary. I work with clients so they come away feeling lighter and in touch with their own resources.
A recent client wrote ' you've really given me a skip in my step and a new way to look at things which feels like you've given me a super power.'
Maybe you have had disturbed sleep for a long time and have become resigned to 'nothing working', maybe it is new to you and you are keen to address it now. A hypnotherapy treatment programme will be tailored to your specific experiences and will give you practical alternatives to nighttime wakefulness and distress.
Although some level of anxiety is a normal human experience, there are times when the experience of distress and worry become chronic and negatively impact daily life, making everyday things a struggle. Hypnotherapy will support you to calm your nervous system and face life challenges and everyday situations with greater ease and confidence. A client wrote 'In just three sessions my perspective on life has subtly changed and the difficulties that weighed me down have started to grow lighter'.
I take your fear or phobia seriously and create a treatment plan that supports you to make appropriate changes in your thoughts, shift your negative experiences and expectations and free yourself from the fears or phobia that are troubling you.
If you struggle with low self-confidence, engagement with hypnotherapy can support you to overcome negative self-talk, increase your sense of self-worth, and feel more empowered in all areas of your life.
